A protest date has been fixed by a new right-wing organisation over “sexist and offensive” signs at a Crayford mosque. Members of the English National Resistance (ENR) are angry the North West Kent Muslim Association’s mosque in Crayford High Street has separate entrances for men and women.

Knifeman ordered Bristol women to take off hijabs
A man racially abused a Muslim woman and demanded she took off her hijab before putting a kitchen knife to her throat. David Norris, 39, approached Farduja Jama who was with her eight-year-old son in Morton Street, Barton Hill at 9am.
Drunken Norris, who was brandishing a six-inch knife told her: “Take the hijab off. This is England, you are not allowed. Take the hijab off before I stab you.” He then pointed the blade at Miss Jama and put the blade to the left and right of her throat.
Later the same day Norris approached Iqbal Osman who was watching her four-year-old play in Barton Hill Urban Park. He asked her why she was wearing too many clothes and accused Muslims of “taking over” his country. He again brandished the knife before leaving.
EDL anti-mosque protest in Plymouth
A protest by a right-wing group and anti-fascist campaigners passed off peacefully this afternoon.
Members of the English Defence League (EDL) from across the South of England descended on Plymouth after the owner of the Dance Academy claimed he was thinking of handing the property over to a charity to be turned into a mosque.
About 25 EDL members from as far away as Bournemouth and Weymouth staged a two-hour protest outside the former New Palace Theatre in Union Street. They were confronted by a about 25 members of Unite Against Fascism (UAF).
Another racist graffiti attack on Le Barp mosque
The Muslim prayer hall at Le Barp, in Gironde, has once again been the target of an Islamophobic attack. Racist graffiti has been found on the front of the mosque. This is a new slap in the face for the Muslim community in this quiet town of 5,000 inhabitants.
Arson attack on Dutch mosque
A mosque in Enkhuizen in North Holland was the victim of an arson attack early on Saturday morning. The women’s prayer room has been completely destroyed. There was a previous attempt to set fire to the mosque in 2011.

Texas man arrested over anti-Muslim death threats
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities are investigating possible hate crimes at several convenient stores in north Houston and Harris County.
On Monday morning, Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables arrested 32-year-old Carlos Marroquin after a convenience store clerk at the Shell gas station at 6007 FM 2920 reported a man saying racial slurs and making terroristic threats.
Deputy constables said the suspect threatened to kill the store clerk and burn his store down because he was a Muslim.
Marroquin went to at least three different convenient store locations Monday morning making similar threats, according to investigators. Deputy constables obtained statements from witnesses at each location.

Feds indict alleged anti-Muslim bigot on hate crime charge
A Federal Way man accused of viciously beating a Sikh cab driver while shouting anti-Muslim slurs now faces a federal hate crime indictment.
Initially charged in King County Superior Court, Jamie W. Larson is accused of attacking a cab driver during an Oct. 17 ride after commenting on the man’s turban. Larson, who is alleged to have torn at the man’s beard and injured his mouth in the attack, apparently believed the Sikh driver to be Muslim.
Luton: police probe mosque fire
An investigation is underway after an arson attack at a mosque in Bury Park in the early hours of this morning (April 2).
Fire crews were called to the Bury Park Jamia Masjid in Bury Park Road at 4.30am, after two large metal bins were pushed up against a door and set alight. The scene has been cordoned off by police while a fire investigation takes place.

A man photographed holding a piece of wood moments before Kingston Mosque was attacked was grinning at his friends not plotting violence, his defence counsel has said.
Alfie Wallace was snapped holding a piece of wood in East Road, where the mosque is, while another unidentified man stood behind him wielding a stick, Kingston Crown Court heard. He was caught on the mobile phone of co-defendant David Morris before the attack on November 21, 2010.
Mr Wallace’s defence counsel Eve Macatonia said: “The picture the Crown say is so sinister. Have a look at his face. He is smiling.”
