‘Bigotry’ on Facebook costs Big Stone GOP chair his day job

Ortonville Hardware

The chairman of the Big Stone County Republican Party, who took to Facebook last week to issue a “call to arms” against Muslims, has lost his day job.

Jack Whitley “brought shame” to his community and to Hardware Hank, the Ortonville store where he has worked for the past several years, his employers decided. Whitley’s Facebook posts – in which he described Muslims as “terrorists” and “parasites” and calling for someone to “frag ’em” – came as a shock to the store’s owners, Bob and Sue Kulbeik, who were even more shocked when he stood by his remarks.

“Everything Jack said was so contrary to the way my husband and I conduct our life and the way we believe and think that we just couldn’t tolerate it,” said Sue Kulbeik.

He was let go, she said, not because of any outside pressure, but because “he clearly offered no remorse” for his statements. “We even asked him, ‘Is that really how you feel?’ And he said, ‘Absolutely,'” she said. “We said, ‘You’re no longer needed at our store.'”

Angry dad doesn’t think daughter should have to learn about Islam because he was a Marine

John Kevin WoodA Maryland family apparently plans to sue their daughter’s high school over an assignment that included lessons on the Muslim religion.

John Kevin Wood was banned last month from La Plata High School when school officials claimed he threatened to cause a “sh*tstorm” and disrupt classes over the world history lesson.

School officials considered the comments to be a threat against public safety, but the U.S. Marine veteran’s wife and attorneys insist he did nothing wrong.

“The school’s actions not only dishonored John Wood’s service, but the service of all men and women in our Armed Forces who defended our nation from Islamic violence,” said the conservative Christian Thomas More Law Center in a statement.

The family and their lawyers claim the girl was required to affirm “there is no god but Allah” and other aspects of the Muslim faith, but school officials say the class covered only the role of Islam in the history and politics of the Middle East – where it has been the dominant religion for centuries.

Wood and his attorneys claim the lesson amounted to “Islamic indoctrination” and violated the constitutional rights of Christians who are not able to proselytize at school.

According to a press release from the self-described “Christian response to the ACLU,” the Wood family objected to lessons that indicated Allah is the same god worshiped by Christians and Jews. They also were offended that lessons covered Muslim teachings about the role of women in Islamic societies.

“Wood witnessed firsthand the destruction caused in the name of Allah and knows Islam is not ‘a religion of peace,’” the law center said in a statement. “He served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and lost friends in that action. On 9-11, Wood responded as a firefighter to the smoldering Pentagon.”

Mareeba, Queensland: Islamic school meeting draws hostile crowd

Emotions were running high on Saturday at the first public meeting of the proposed Standard Bearers Academy, a $70 million multi-denominational boarding college to be built near Mareeba.

Proponents of the 1200 all-male student Academy held the information session at Mareeba Bowls Club to gauge public support after media reports described the planned broad-based curriculum as having an “Islamic world view.”

The school hopes to attract students from around Australia, including Far North Queensland taking in Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait.

The SBA plans to offer Agricultural courses on its 96 acre Tinaroo Creek Rd site with an emphasis on equestrian studies, environmental awareness, sports centre, Olympic-sized swimming pool, tartan running track, an orchard and a training farm.

More than 100 residents were told by Academy education advisor Dylan Chown that rather than focus on Islam, the Academy planned to offer students of all religions entry in an attempt to allay the perception of a fundamental Islamic school.

In reply to a question from the floor, Mr Chown said although “students from another faith could be enrolled, Islamic values will be taught.” This response brought a mercurial reply of derision from the audience with claims of Islamic indoctrination. Another member of the audience asked why Mareeba was chosen for the Academy and could the community expect rural areas in the north to be “infiltrated with students trying to convert others?”

Minnesota GOP official defends ‘frag ’em’ comment, says Muslims must accept Jesus or leave the US

Jack Whitley Facebook comment (1)The chairman of a county Republican Party in Minnesota who believes that big government is actually a form of satanic “witchcraft” is not backing down from controversial comments he posted on his Facebook page about Muslims.

Big Stone County Republican chairman Jack Whitley said he opposed waterboarding terrorists because he believed that Muslim “parasites” should be killed. “I am opposed to waterboarding muslim terrorists because it is a waste of resources,” he wrote Wednesday on Facebook. “They are muslims, they are terrorist, we know where they are from, we know where their buddies are, we know where thier mosque’s are, we know millions of these parasites travel to Mecca every year and when…FRAG ‘EM! Simplicity. I love when it all comes together!”

The comments were first reported by the Bluestem Prairie blog.

Whitley said Thursday that he would not apologize for his remarks. He said Muslims should either convert to Christianity or leave the United States.

UKIP member kicked out for attending Britain First anti‑mosque march

Malcolm JacksonA member of Ukip has been kicked out of the party after attending a rally organised by the far right group Britain First, according to reports.

Ukip member Malcolm Jackson [pictured] said he has received a letter from the party saying his membership had been rescinded because of his “connections to Britain First” after attending their 15 November protest rally against a Mega Mosque planned for construction in Rochester.

[The new mosque will hold no more than 400 worshippers, which falls some way short of “mega”, and the site is in Gillingham.]

Jackson said he is not affiliated with Britain First – which describes itself as “probably the only group experiencing growth on the far right” – and was only marching with them to protest against the “evil cult of Islam taking over yet another part of our country”.

He said: “I have no connections with Britain First. I am not a member of any political organisation apart from Ukip, and I am not a member of Britain First. All I have done is take part, last Saturday 15 Nov 2014, in a march organised by Britain First, to demonstrate against a Mega Mosque being built on the borders of Rochester and Gillingham.”

He added: “If I had been with the crowd of left-wing thugs opposing the march against the Mega Mosque, would Ukip have made the decision to rescind my membership?”

Ukip have tried to distance themselves from Britain First ever since three of its members were photographed with the deputy leader of the party, Jayda Fransen, while both groups were campaigning in Rochester ahead of the upcoming by-election.

‘Terror in the tucker box’: Halal certification funds extremists, claims Australian MP

George Christensen MPConsumers who buy halal products could be funding Islamist extremism, an Abbott government backbencher claims.

In an opinion article titled Terror in the Tucker Box, Nationals MP George Christensen questions whether shoppers who buy goods with the halal logo are funding a push for Sharia law – or even backing terrorists. Christensen says there’s no way to know where the funds from halal-certified goods end up.

He said it was “outrageous” his grocery dollars were going towards a “religious tax” – listing halal-approved products such as Vegemite, Corn Flakes and Freddo frogs. “Worse still, I don’t know whether my grocery spend is going to fund extremist versions of that religion or extremist religious activities that I would rather not see in Australia,” Christensen wrote on his website.

The Nationals deputy whip said it was “entirely feasible” to think some halal certifiers could be financing groups such as Hamas or the Muslim Brotherhood, citing cases in the US where such links were allegedly found.

“While it’s not terrorism, there is no doubt halal certification is funding organisations with extremist views and activities in Australia. It’s lovely to know a jar of the salty black stuff is sponsoring the advocacy of robbing women of all of their marital property rights.”

Amid criticism, Texas fails to OK new textbooks

Roy WhiteThe Texas Board of Education couldn’t muster the votes late Tuesday to grant preliminary approval for new history and social studies textbooks for classrooms across the nation’s second-largest state, failing to act amid stinging criticism of the proposed books from both the right and left.

Academics and some liberal-leaning activists have complained for months that many of the books up for adoption overstate the influence of religion on early American democracy, including exaggerating biblical figure Moses’ importance to the founding fathers. But conservative groups worry that many of the same books promote pro-Islam values.

The Republican-controlled board tried to pass nearly all of the 100 books and lesson software it was considering, but that failed 5-4 with four abstentions. One member wasn’t present. “The abstentions have it,” joked Thomas Ratliff, a Mount Pleasant Republican.

That sets up a potentially tense final vote Friday, when the board will have to approve the books or miss the deadline to get them to the state’s 5 million-plus public school students by September 2015. Texas is such a vast textbook market that much of what is produced here can end up influencing materials used in other states.

Board members stressed that they still have time to successfully pass books – but also conceded that no one expected Tuesday to end with no action taken.

The failing vote came after hours of public testimony, where the board heard many of the same complaints about the books that it has for months – that the texts present political and religious beliefs and ideologies as facts.

MerryLynn Gerstenschlager, vice president of the influential conservative group Texas Eagle Forum, said books should describe the “forced wealth distribution” imposed by the United Nations via misleading propaganda about climate change.

Retired school teacher Anthony Bruner warned that they would indoctrinate students with communist tenants. “I’ve tried to be a good, patriotic citizen and tried to protect the young people,” said Bruner, who is aligned with a conservative group called Truth in Texas Textbooks.

That organization used dozens of volunteers to raise more than 1,500 complaints about the books. It noted that the achievements of President Ronald Reagan were omitted from some while arguing that others ignored Islam’s occasional glorification of violence – including beheadings.

Roy White [pictured], a retired Air Force pilot and Truth in Texas Textbooks’ chairman, said he supports all religions but “the political side of Islam, the part that threatens you and me … that’s not a religion.”

‘Trojan Horse’ witch-hunt not over, says Wilshaw

Birmingham Mail jihadist plotA council’s failure to respond to a damning report on the Trojan Horse scandal has been labelled “astonishing” by the head of Ofsted.

Sir Michael Wilshaw called for “greater urgency” from Birmingham City Council and the Department for Education (DfE). He also warned the scandal – in which Muslim groups were accused of trying to take control of a number of Birmingham schools – may not be over.

The DfE said any action would “unfortunately take a while”.

Speaking to the House of Commons public accounts committee, Sir Michael said: “I don’t think we’ve seen the end of the Trojan Horse issues. That’s why I’ve been clear that Birmingham’s got to step up to the plate and monitor what’s happening in their schools… much more effectively.

“There needs to be a greater sense of urgency. It is astonishing the local authority has not produced an action plan… after 13 or 14 drafts. These are very, very serious issues.”

Ofsted will conduct further inspections of academies in January.

Four separate investigations were conducted into the allegations, which were sparked by the so-called “Trojan Horse” letter – now widely believed to be a hoax. The letter, which was sent to the council, referred to an alleged plot by hardline Muslims to seize control of a number of school governing boards in the city.

Why a woman drove to Washington from Tennessee to protest Muslim prayers at the National Cathedral

Christine Weick harangues Muslim worshippersSeveral hundred Muslims held Friday prayers in Washington’s National Cathedral last week, a first for the well-known Episcopal church.

Some people are very, very unhappy about it. Among them: A Michigan woman named Christine Weick, who sneaked into the cathedral during the private service to tell the worshipers to “leave our churches alone.”

A day later, Weick spoke to the conservative news site World Net Daily, which called her “a folk hero of sorts for thousands, if not millions, of Christians.” Weick, who said she lives out of her car, told WND that she read about the prayer service on Drudge Report days before it happened.

“My blood began to boil as I read the comments of how this is to be such a wonderful event and how religious tolerance can, for the first time, be shown in our nation’s capital,” she said of the news coverage in advance of the interfaith service.

She was staying in Tennessee at the time and drove hundreds of miles to find a way into the service and, she said, to do something about it.

Although the event was closed to the public and all guests had to pass through security, Weick made it in without any trouble, she said. Once seated, she said, “it hit me … I had such an angst come over me. Seeing these Muslims sitting on their rugs ready to bow to a god, causing such an abomination in the house of the Lord.”
